Curious and respectful of the journey the business has taken, I work with your team to shape actionable growth and performance plans with genuine ownership and commitment. Drawing on my experience as an in-house executive, I help leadership teams and investors focus on what is relevant, executable, and business-friendly — not consultant-friendly. From research and analysis through to identifying and prioritising options, the work is anchored in business reality: competitive advantage, ambition over the relevant timeframe, and the organisation’s readiness to stretch. Leadership, Engagement & Culture​​
I provide hands-on support to leaders committed to inspiring and energising their teams. I create opportunities for visible leadership and role-modelling to strengthen alignment and resonance. I work with leadership teams to prioritise the core behaviours that bring the organisation’s values to life. I also help leaders enhance their communication — content and style — to be more human and personable. Seeing senior managers soften their style and lower their guard always puts a smile on my face.​ I enjoy working with diverse teams across levels, functions, and geographies, uncovering hidden ideas and energy through creative and genuine engagement. I also create channels and produce assets — films, posters, animations, podcasts — to amplify the voices of employees and customers and bring key messages to life. Shaping a positive culture from the start of a change journey is often overlooked. I work with two core principles: 1. We only have one opportunity to make the first impression. 2. Employees learn more from what we do than what we say. Engagement and communication are closely intertwined. I don’t see engagement as a programme of tasks or activities, but as an evolving process requiring the active involvement and honest input of the client team. Communication has many layers — not just top-down or centre-out, but also the call to action, format, channel, timing, and who delivers the message. I am often retained to support communication and sustain momentum during major organisational or transformation initiatives. Seeing engagement improve and more ideas surface is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
M&A & Value Creation
I enjoy private equity work for its variety, pace and focus. I support investors and management teams through due diligence, growth planning, divestment support, and post-deal integration. I have led numerous buy-side and sell-side due diligence projects, providing actionable insights that enable investors to develop value-creation plans while gaining a deeper understanding of the management team’s ways of working. Time pressure is no excuse for ignoring the people side of M&A. Building rapport with management teams quickly, while responding to the rigorous questions of investors, makes the work both challenging and rewarding. While most M&A work is commissioned by investors, I believe it is equally important to address the needs and questions of the management team. Management teams — especially those new to M&A — can be distracted or anxious, so transparency, proactive communication, and empathy are critical to ensure they benefit from the process as much as the investor.
Purpose-Driven & Social Impact
For over 20 years, I’ve worked with charities and mission-led organisations as a volunteer and advisor. Contributing my time and expertise has been both rewarding and impactful. I have helped review and optimise governance models, assess merger and partnership options, operationalise COVID testing centres, lead a UN-sponsored global initiative, and drive marketing and communications. I have also supported EU-funded organisations with strategy design and mobilisation. All of these engagements required careful attention to potential public scrutiny, managing complex stakeholder networks, working with less profit-oriented performance indicators, and adapting to unique organisational cultures — all while staying closely attuned to the mission and purpose of each organisation.
